A Note To My 17 Year Old Son

Dear Son:

HOW TO MAKE KOOL-AID

Open packet of sugar-free Kool-aid.

Pour into pitcher.

Fill with (preferably) cold water to the pre-marked 2 quart line.

Give it a little stir, although it's not really necessary.

YOU GOT A 32 ON THE ACT AND YOU CAN'T DO THIS?!

Please marry well.

Love, Mom

  1. Too bad book smart doesn't always translate into street smart. Or kitchen smart in this case.

    1. I think he is dumb like a fox. By being helpless and inept, he gets out of stuff he didn't want to do in the first place.

  2. I have a Senior in High School and a Junior in High School. I'll be printing your post and taping it to the refrigerator door for them. Thanks for saving me the time of having to type it up myself.

    1. I keep telling myself that living in a dorm next year will change him in a magical, positive way....

  3. HAHAHAHAHA! I laughed out loud at this. Probably because my 6 year old son will make his own pancakes and kool-aide and my 9 year old can't get his own glass of water. I think their kitchen abilities lessen with age.

    1. And I used to think my DAD was the most helpless male on the planet. At least he can make a sandwich!
